TOBY BREAKSPEAR

Toby is a graduate of Sydney University. He has worked with Choi Ropiha Fighera on a broad range of architectural and urban projects and held teaching positions at the University of Sydney.


Together with John Choi, Toby co-ordinated and tutored the final year architectural design studio at Sydney University. Toby also co-wrote, coordinated and taught the Sydney university Second Year Communications Course with Lucy Humphrey.


Toby is the recipient of the Graduate Award for Architecture History and Theory from the RAIA NSW Chapter and received the Ethel M Chettle Prize in Architecture from Sydney University.


Toby had a leading role in 3 competition winning schemes with Choi Ropiha Fighera - the Macquarie St Tower Competition, the Manly Centre Competition and the Danks St Apartments Competition. His entry was a finalist in the 2G International Ideas Competition for Venice Lagoon Park and has been exhibited at the Venice Arsenale and the European Landscape Biennale in Barcelona.


Toby has collaborated on competitions and projects such as Australia House in Japan, Trestles in California, and Situate in Perth, the Mentally Friendly offices and the RE:PRESENT exhibition.
